A few years ago, Garmin removed GPS functionality from MapSource, and put it into a separate free application called nRoute. nRoute could display your live GPS position on a Garmin vector map, do routing, and more. But just a while ago, Garmin pulled all links to nRoute, and now sells Garmin Mobile PC that does basically the same thing. However nRoute is still available for download on the Garmin Website, see the links below. The user interface of nRoute looks very much like Mapsource. User Interface of Gamin Mobile PC looks very much like the UI of Nuvi, Zumo and Mobile XT of course. nRoute looks outdated, but hell it's still free. Comments (1)

The Garmin nRoute Download link is now dead - they've removed it. Fortunately the file and earlier versions can be accessed here: http://gawisp.com/perry/nroute/
