Hello,

I have MetroGold since a long time and it works great with my Etrex.

Now I would need to format my hard drives, could someone tell me how to keep MetroGold ? How can I get my license after formating everything ?

For what I know, there is no licence. You obtain the right to download the software by being sent to a download address. Once you have it in it's set-up form, you can reuse it on a reformated machine.

You're right. You can easily use the setup which you downloaded on another machine.
Just don't distribute illegal copies please

I copied the file as suggested into the Garmin directory on the Nuvi...works great. Thanks for Metrowizz and your help in getting it up and running. I changed my location to places I will be staying in Europe and it routes to my destination with street names and turns called out. Garmin makes great products, you make them work better. Thank you!"
