metroguide north america v8
metrogold

Here is my problem:
I have metroguide north america v8, got upgraded by metrogold. I selected the whole maps to send it to my 2gb sandisk card. Then afterward, I put the card into my gps. My GPS reads the card fine, recognize the maps and everything. However, there is one problem. When I try to type in an address, for example:
1. Where to: California
2. City: Westminster
3. Street #: ***
4. Street Name: ****** (the garmin or the software would recognize the street name)
5. I select the street name, but the problem appears: "Address not found"

How come it says, "address not found?" The fact of the matter is the gps or software recognize the street but when I select, it give me the error? Please help.

PS: When I tried it on the metrogold North America v7, the address issue is solved. However, version 7 is not as up to date as version 8. So I would rather have version 8. Please help.

Strange problem which I didn't hear off before.

Did you try different addresses? Are you sure autorouting info is included in the upload to your GPS?

Yes, I checked the auto routing feature.

I don't know if this is related, but before I use metrogold, I used metrowhizzz to upload the metro north America version 7.0 on my gps. I then took out the SD card in the gps and delete the maps using a sd card slot on my computer. After that, I use metrogold because I have metro north america version 8.0. So I uploaded version 8 onto my gps (containing my sd card). And like I said in the previous thread, the address was recognized by the map, but once I click on it, it said, "address not found." Nevertheless the maps displays properly when I click on "view map" Since I also have some previous addresses on my gps, it was able to do the routing fine. However, I can't add new addresses b/c the "address not found" message. So I wonder if this may have caused my gps to not work properly.

Since then, I have tried using metrowhizz again to reupload my version 7 maps to my gps; I was hoping that it would work as normal again. Well, the "address not found" issue doesn't happen in version 7. However, 2 new problems arised

1. I can't add the address, so eventhough the gps found the address, but every time I click save, the gps turns off.
2. since the gps can find the address, I try to input an address and see if it will route; the gps said, "way-points is full" or "memory is full".

I have no clue what's going on. Will you please give me some advice on what to do? Please help.

Problem solved - all I need to do was to update my firmware to v 6.0. by using the webupdater from the garmin website.
